Welcome to the home of Merrickville Monkees on the web! Did you find a Monkee in the Wild or do you just want to learn more about these plucky primates? Click one of the links! You know you want to! Merrickville Monkees are handmade glass beads. Each one is unique, created with fire and smiles just for you! Layers of glass are applied and shaped to create the expressions and accoutrements of each monkee. Once I am satisfied with the way they look I put them directly into a kiln where the glass is annealed. This means that the stresses that build in the glass when it is worked are allowed to release before the glass is cooled at a very slow rate. Annealing strengthens the glass creating a monkee that in theory could last for thousands of years!
